Research communication beyond journal articles is important to me, both because I know insights from research are important for civil society, as well as for public employees – in ministers, in schools, and in many other institutions. Many journalists are also interested in research insights, and frankly, effective communication of research insights in briefer formats, is also helpful among researchers, to quickly grasp new knowledge, and consider which further publications to delve into.
PRIO has an established Policy Brief series – of 4 page-briefs – which aim to communicate research insights, which have relevance for policy and practice. More often than not, we refrain from providing policy advice, and instead, shed light on the dilemmas emerging from our research, where choices should be made in an informed manner. You’ll also find reports – summary reports from completed projects, as well as a few reports from commissioned work.
